Main Program:

“Trail on Holston Mountain and the Search for Flight 308” by local blogger Dean Walker. The program will first review the trail on Holston Mountain where the A.T. used to travel along the ridge line until the great relocation over to Roan Mountain. The program will then shift to the fate of Southeast Airlines Flight 308, a DC-3 aircraft that crashed into Holston Mountain on the night of January 8, 1959 (65 years ago), while trying to land at Tri-Cities Airport. For a taste of the latter topic, see the January 2024 Kingsport Times-News story.
